Integrated Canister Feeding
An integrated canister feeder is a great way to save costs and floor space on your packaging line when you need the ability to insert canisters (desiccants, oxygen scavengers) into bottles.
Omega offers a variety of canister dispensing options depending on the desired machine speed, canister size, bottle opening, and tolerances. Omega can help you choose the optimal canister storage and delivery system based on your requirements and floor space. Note that the integrated canister feeders are available only with select Rotary Pocket style bottle unscramblers, however Omega does offer a range of standalone desiccant feeders (for pouches and canisters) to complement other unscrambling applications.
Capabilities
Option 1: Ring style dispenser
Location: Inside a Rotary Pocket Unscrambler’s frame
Operation: The main turret features detachable ring segments with spring-loaded cams, which deliver the canisters into a bottle as the turret rotates.
Note: Canisters get dispensed while the rotary pocket controls the bottle. Dispenser change parts are canister-specific only.
Option 2: Shuttle style dispenser
Location: Inside a Rotary Pocket Unscrambler’s frame
Operation: Once released from a rotary pocket, the bottle passes beneath a dispensing shuttle before exiting the machine.
Note: Canisters get dispensed inside the machine; Dispenser change parts are canister-specific only
Options 3: Starwheel dispenser
Location: Dispensing takes place in a guarded section just outside the machine frame
Operation: Bottles exit the machine and engage a starwheel assembly, which aligns the bottles and canisters for dispensing.
Note: Dispenser change parts are necessary for both bottles and canisters.
