Driven to Exceed Customer Expectations with New Tray Wrapper

As we navigate through this crazy time, I'd like to take a moment to reflect on Omega's added value and to formally introduce you to our Tray Wrapper, an inline Bander for trays and rigid packages. The Tray Wrapper's origin story is a testament to Omega's highly-skilled employees and their customer-driven focus.

In 2019, a large global animal health company urgently needed to replace their existing Shrink Bundlers with machines that could stretch a 2” wide band around a tray pre-loaded with cartons. The machines had to meet high speed requirements and occupy a specific space on their packaging lines. Time was critical.

Omega’s team embraced the challenge and used its resources, experience and engineering ingenuity to build two custom machines that went to FAT 8 weeks later. To expedite the process, the team began with an existing single lane Shrink Bundler. They redesigned the infeed system to include an inline conveyor with product spacing that could be easily changed over between single or multi-lane setups. A creatively designed overhead pusher assembly was added to help meet speed requirements. The discharge system was also redesigned to include a lane combining option.

Ultimately, Omega developed, built and tested its first inline Tray Wrappers. The machines performed to specification, were delivered on-time, and were installed seamlessly into the customer’s packaging lines.
